'Writing as Sculpture' 1978-1987
'Art meets Science and Spirituality in a changing Economy' 1990
'His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama talks to Louwrien Wijers' 1982

Rongwrong was very proud to invite Louwrien Wijers. Throughout her remarkable life, Louwrien Wijers sought to create a constellation where art, science, spirituality and economy are absorbed in one another, again and again. An artist herself, she moved, as she describes it "from metal sculpture to mental sculpture", making writing her main medium. When we first met Louwrien we were immediately struck by her presence, carrying with her the special energies she has brought together over time. We invite her to talk about the unpredictable encounters with a person, a thought or an artwork which can deeply enrich and change the ways we live and think.

Louwrien Wijers (1941) is a visual artist and writer living Amsterdam and St Anna Paulowna.
In 1990 she organized the remarkable series of conversations ‘Art meets Science and Spirituality in a changing Economy'
in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam with guests such the Dalai Lama, Robert Rauschenberg, John Cage, J.C.J. Vanderheyden,
Mother Tessa Bielecki, Lawrence Weiner and Marina Abramovic. In 1992 she published ‘Writing as Sculpture’, a collection
of her interviews. Today she remains a constant source of inspiration for a younger generation of artists.
