Franco Bifo Berardi - 'The european collapse in the age of exhaustion'

Franco Berardi has been invited to discuss with us on the ever impending issue of old age.
As demographic trends point towards a general aging of the European population, we found ourselves wondering what it is to be old today and especially what can we expect of our old age to come. While most of the television programs radiate the fiction of youth, in reality life doesn’t keep up to its promise. As Franco Berardi has previously written, exhaustion, a term often related to old age, is at odds with modern culture.
Together with Franco Berardi we will explore the depths and hopes of this anachronistic modus operandi.
Franco Berardi, (Bifo) is an activist, writer, and theoretician of medias. Actively involved in the italian Autonomia movement through the 1970s and 1980s, he founded A/traverso magazine and collaborated with the first free pirate radio station in Italy, Radio Alice.
His writings expand on social history of labor, alienation, revolt. The titles of his books speak by themselves : After the Future, The Soul at Work: From Alienation to Autonomy, Mutation and Cyberpunk,The Ominous Power of Workers' Utopia, Politics of Mutation, Philosophy and Politics in the Twilight of Modernity.
He is the co-founder of SCEPSI, European School of Social Imagination, a project informed by autonomous schooling in a time of financial and social decadence of public schools.
